While there is huge focus on Irish companies exporting and diversifying from the UK, companies need to know that it takes time, a lot of work, effort and resources to be successful in export markets. While at Combilift, he grew business on the West Coast of the USA from a very low base to over €5m in two years, also securing the first orders in Middle Eastern markets and developing a distributors network in key markets in the Middle East, Africa and South East Asia. He will talk about what he considers to be the key to success when trading overseas. While even when we have lots of new tools, data and insights into export markets, people still buy from people and developing strong relationships is key.
